I got this computer 6months ago, but i've been bearing this for a while but i have to do something about this now.

this computer's cooling system really sucks as you might know,

I can't even computing on my bed, and

when I am playing game (even starcraft) overheating gets worse and it automatically shuts down.

as you know this phoenix BIOS cannot set the temperature that computer would shut down itselff?

I heard many people using this model suffers from this overheating matter and shutting down.

anyone solved this problem? do i need A/S?

Try taking a can of air duster and blowing out your fans. After a while enough dust gets trapped inside to make the system overheat. You can also try a notebook cooler off of newegg or elsewhere.

Agreed - the P-series has an extensive cooling system for its P4 CPU - any dust build-up will cause the cooling system to be overtaxed, therefore rendering it unable to cool the CPU. I'd take a look in our "How to Dissasemble Toshiba Notebooks" thread and find out how to take apart your notebook and dust it out.

Yep I have a P-30 too, It has two cooling fans on the bottom that cant be blocked, I have had no overheating problems at all thanks to a Pampered Chef cutting board that seems to have been specifically designed for a P-30 series laptop that allows me to use it on the bed. No i'm not running Windows Vista, I just like the wallpaper.
