On Toshiba.co.uk, the Satellite A210-11P is priced at £600 (when VAT is added). But Comet are selling them for £650 at their stores. Does this mean that they're charging £50 over the retail price, or is £600 just Toshiba's web price?

Retailers can charge as much as they think they can get away with. Somewhere there's a balance between pricing and selling enough products. Notebook prices are very volatile depending on supply and demand and it's possible that Toshiba have dropped their price because they want to clear the inventory ready for the arrival of a newer version. Perhaps Comet haven't yet caught up with the price drop. Shop around.

It's £577 at dabs.com (inc delivery), but I'd prefer to buy from a store, so if I can buy it for £600 at Comet then I will (otherwise dabs.com)... -

It's worth a try, although the Comet site says that they only price match against retail stores within 10 miles.
If there's a PC World / Currys within range check there as well. They might have that model although its is not on the website.

Are Comet trying to rip me off (buying Satellite A210)?
