The specs are definitely good for the price, just want to hear others opinions, thanks.

I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook that I've had for 4 years and it is great. The one you are showing doesn't seem to have any reviews on it yet (that I can find anyway).
-
Fairly mid range. Build quality is on par with most brands, nothing particularly special that defines them from others, other than visuals of course.
-
Well, I actually bought that one, and it seems fairly solid especially for the price. My only issue with it so far is the touchpad. I like the touchpad itself but I'm not a fan of not being able to see where the scrolling area is, if that makes sense. It's just a pad, there is no line or anything that defines where the area is to scroll.

I had a Toshiba satellite back in 2001 and it lasted until 2005. Pretty good for a laptop way back then.
-
One thing I forgot to ask regarding this laptop is if I should stick with it or go for another one instead? Can I get a better laptop for $750?

Hm, what are you looking for in a notebook?

I'm not particularly in love with my Toshiba P305 Satellite, but so far, it hasn't given me any problems compared to a dead HP Pavilion which I purchased back in 2005 for $1350! The very first week of having the HP, I had it sent back to them for repair, then subsequently after that until it finally died, but I'm not gonna get into details as it is a waste of time; so the Satellite is the replacement.
I bought it back in May and so far so good, meaning not one single issue with the hardware. Toshiba drivers are updated from their site so that's good. There are minor things that I'm not fond with this laptop (seems like all Toshibas are at it now), for example:
The keyboard doesn't have a solid feel to it while I'm typing, it dives and caves in from the center, it is also way too glossy which makes it almost impossible too i.d. the keys because of the reflections coming from the bright screen. This can be a huge problem especially if you work in low-lit areas most of the time like I do.
The mouse pad: The design is just outright failure! How can they expect one to pleasantly use the computer when the pad is smaller than usual? Also, the biggest flaw is that there are no 'guides' embedded nor engraved as to where you're suppose to scroll, meaning if you want to go up or down, you can easily miss the region and find yourself constantly scrolling into Toshiba's flush-designed 'fusion' body -- a constant annoyance nevertheless.
Lastly; my DVD drive rattles and vibrates like there is no tomorrow, although this only happens 50% of the time and could be a defect, but I'm not going to send it in for some "tech" to hack up my brand new laptop just to see if the drive needs repairing. Past experiences from HP told me not to let anyone touch the new computer -- unless it is in dire need of serious repair or in replacement state.
Conclusion:
So far, this is the most reliable portable piece of computing machine that I have owned to date. I can say that it is worth the money spent, perhaps not so much for the aforementioned ergonomics but the reliability of this unit does outweigh its flaws. -
have 2 toshiba sateliites, one is 9yrs old, one is 5-6 weeks. I have found alot of people who seem to like them.
My 9 yr old unit is a tank.
I will say I've used a few Fujitsu's, they are really tight.
But I think Toshiba is a good choice. -
Perhaps you should take a look at this.
-
Well, I've had mine for like 4 months now... and its been perfect. Not a problem at all (Software & Hardware).

Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
I have owned two Toshibas. One I bought seven years ago and it is still running great. The other I just got - both machines have done fine.
I got a three years warranty with the first machine and the motherboard died about 2 years and 1/2 after purchase. Toshiba replaced it ... AND threw in a new battery into the bargain, as they thought the motherboard failure had destroyed the battery somehow. I had a very good warranty experience with them actually.
Are Toshiba Satellite's good laptops?
