Hey all, I recently bought the Satellite A105-S4004, and it was working great for a week or two. I'm having problems now and I need to see if anyone here can help me, as Toshiba tech support has apparently done all the software-related help that they can.

My audio tends to pop (and it's not the speakers, not a bad CD, and not a bad mp3), and after it's been on for a little while it starts to sound like it's skipping and, eventually, slows down and gets glitchy. It goes away, but not quick enough. And it only seems to happen when I'm connected to the internet via ethernet. (I could be mistaken, but it seems to go away when I unplug the cable.) It also happens regardless of the source files - both when watching video and listening to mp3s. I bought the notebook primarily for these purposes, so I really need to fix this problem.

Toshiba had me update the BIOS, and it worked for a few days, but now it's reverting back to the same issues. I haven't heard of these problems anywhere else. This is my last stop before I take it for a hardware check at Best Buy (which I would really rather not have to do!).

Any help would be very much appreciated. :)

If the above is true, have you tried another patch cable or a wireless connection to the Internet?

It almost sounds like some kind of electrical interference.

    Thanks for the replies.

No, I've used this same cable on my old desktop, as well as my xbox, and had no problems whatsoever. Also, the audio often tends to pop even when the cable is unplugged, though that doesn't compare to the problems it has when it's in. The annoying thing is, the problem is so spastic... right now, I've been listening to music for about an hour and I've had perfect sound. That hasn't happened for days, and I doubt it's going to stay that way. It makes it a difficult condition to demonstrate to tech people.

I almost never run on battery, but the few times I have, it's been around 3 hours or so. (It told me 4, but I doubt that would've remained consistant.)

Anyone have anymore ideas? It's definitely not the cable. If I can get service at the local Best Buy, I may try taking it there. Anyone have experience with that?
