So guys, I need some clarification here. I went to the Toshiba support webpage to see what type of penryn cpu is supported for my sli1. I see that there is a couple new downloads. Here is where my question. Are all these downloads automatically downloaded through the Toshiba software update program? Moreover, when I do see that icon running in the taskbar, I click on the icon to see the programming running but the window that shows the available upgrade is always empty and I just simply see the message saying the my system is up to date.

    Thanks,
    jei

I believe the penryn cpu is supported through a bios upgrade 2-18-2008 and I dont believe it would be part of a auto update, you need to download manually.

I went with the T7700 as the penryn was not out when I got my T7700 and I get pretty much the same scores as if had the penryn a couple of marks slower but I get around 9254 score in 3DMark06 on my sli1, I must have done a good job putting the laptop back toghether cause I accidentally killed my video cards and was able to have them replaced under warranty.

I must have ask the question wrong or something, but I was mostly concern with everything else besides the BIOS support. Are all the drivers and utilities that are posted on the Toshiba site downloaded automatically through the Toshiba Software Upgrade program or do I have to manually download and install each one?

By the way, what happened to your vid card jesse?

    Thanks,
    jei

No you have to download them manually, I have never seen the auto update program download anything yet so usually I just uninstall it anyway.

Yea...that's why I asked...because mine was set for a monthly update check and every time I look at the program..nothing was downloaded. Thanks again.
