Hello, I have a small kinda big (very big problem)... I've set up a supervisor password on my girlfriends lappy (Toshiba Sattelite L20-181, Pentium 1.6 Ghz, 256 RAM, ATI X200 Express GPU, 40 GB HDD) and now I can't enter the BIOS at all... I press F2 after I turn it on, it says "please wait..." and then the screen turns black and if I try to press ANY KEY there are some beeps coming from it (usually this happens in Windows when it freezes)... Windows runs just fine, no problem there, just BIOS won't run... please help if anyone had this problem before.. A friend of mine reccomended the CMOS Reset Disk (dunoo what that is), but the thing is I don't want to mess it up for good, since it's not mine anyway... plus, having her Bachelors Degree in just 3 weeks she'd kill me if something were to happen to her files... literally....
And then there's another issue.. the laptop was bought on Christmas 2 years ago (2006) and the battery used to hold about 2.5 hours, now it barely lasts 40 minutes... I am aware that the battery capacity is diminished with time, but in just a year and a little over a half... anyway, the main problem is the BIOS...
