I bought a Toshiba U300 (13.3" screen) on Friday for $700 after rebates and the first thing I did when I got home was install XP. Then the next day I seen an HP on for $700 with a larger HDD, more RAM, and a better GPU with a 14.1" screen. So I call up The Source where I bought my laptop and ask about returning it. They say they'll charge me a 10% restocking fee. So I didn't like so I went into the store today and lied a little bit and they brought it down to $35 to restock because I said I didn't even touch it since I got it home.

That is sort of true. I still left the plastic covering on it and didn't open any of the software that came with it. The only thing I did was reformat. Now I'm in the process of remformatting again and I just finished installing Vista Premium which was originally on it.

But I need to have it configured so they believe it hasn't been touched. So for anyone who wrosk at the source or knows the answer to this question, what is the default username that Toshiba installs on the laptop when they install Vista. And does anyone know where I can get a Source instore screensaver?

    Thanks.

no system restore disc, or do you just not want to open it??? If "Source" installs there own software over the OEM Vista install, I don't know how you can get it. Seems odd that they would open each and every box and install a screensaver on it, but I don't know that store.

I use to work at that store, they only open 1 of each model and put the screen saver on it for display, they usually have them sealed at the back of the storage room in boxes untouched.
