I remember reading somewhere that some owners had a problem of a flicker backlight at the lowest setting. I just got mine and it seems to be doing this. Is thos normal, or is it a defect?

I have a Qosmio G25, mine doesn't do that. Maybe it's just the model you have. What model do you have?

Is your screen flickering when it comes on after its been in a blank screen saver mode? If it's this check the Toshiba Power Management settings and set the screen to turn off after 5 min+ of use. If it's flicking while in use, you may have a bad connection, and might want to have it inspected by the retailor or by Toshiba.

It's most likely a problem with the FL Inverter or the LCD's backlight. I'd get them both replaced.
