The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Bios update 1.80 for Satellite Z830 - anyone running it or have any info on it?

    As the title suggests, released end of last month, this is available for my Z830 - prior to flashing, I was looking for some feedback from anyone who is running it. I'm a bit concerned that the fan noise problem may return and once flashed, I'm not able to roll back to earlier bios version of 1.60.

    Toshiba's website information on the details of this bios update are non-existent, save for saying "increases functionality for your system" - now, I like to know what it fixes, why and when etc.....Toshiba provides little info on this - same for Googling.

    C'mon fellow Z830 owners, let's hear from you guys about this! :D
