I have 2GB of RAM, a 2.0ghz core duo processor, and just every upgrade I was able to configure. Right from the start, the system freezes up during normal operation, such as when I hit Back on my internet explorer browser. It'll freeze for about 30 seconds, and then finally process my request. What's going on here!

Did your notebook come with a lot of Toshiba bloatware preinstalled on it? Check your Task Manager and see how many processes you're running.

I've stopped most of those things from loading, disabling them using msconfig. The computer came with 1GB of RAM, and I upgraded with 1GB of RAM that I bought elsewhere. Could the other brand of RAM cause a problem? The specs, speed, etc. match the first one. I should mention that when I say it "freezes", my cursor still works and I can open a new browser, but the original browser stays frozen.

I would try running anti-spyware scans and also try using a different browser such as Opera and Firefox and see if they freeze on you as well.

I do have Java installed, and I do have a problem with pdf's. I'd uninstall Java, but don't I need it for certain things? I'm going to try Firefox as well. Thanks.
