I recently cracked the screen on my Laptop that i Purchased From CC. When I purchased the laptop I also purchased the $300 warrenty to cover any accidents which CC dosent want to cover... So I've decided to replace the screen my self. It has a samsung LCD in it now? Would I be able to purchase an Lg instead? I found an Lg for A hundreed dollars less but was wondering if the Lg would work instead of the samsung? Also does anyone have any suggestions as to where to by a New LCD?

I don't think they will let you choose the replacement, however you can give it a shot, but remember, you might not even manage to have the screen replaced let alone choose the replacement, sadly I have not heard good stories from Toshiba's support.

You might find a direct replacement here. or even the LG you seek. Note that they are not necessarily made by the notebook brand. Anyhow, Goodluck

Notebook LCDs are unfortunately not mix-and-match. You'll need to find one that fits the chassis of your notebook.

The link above seems like a good place to start. I'm curious though--how did you break your LCD? I'm just wondering why they wouldn't honor the ADP you purchased.

Im replaceing the screen myself thats why I was wondering about the brand. It has a samsung thats why I was asking if i could use a different brand... CC says that my warrenty isnt on file!!!! I have all the recipts but its going to take like 6 months to take care of all the crap so I decided to do it myself. It broke in my car on a road trip to to dallas with my girlfriend. She kinda leand against it and it was cracked when I opened it.

I'm really sorry to hear about the damage. Just make sure you've found a compatible screen before you buy it. As I've mentioned before, the fit is important. But it also needs to be supported by the system to work.

You will have to get the same make and model LCD for it to work. You may find a panel that will interchange physically, but the actual connector would most likely be different.

As far as CC, that's BS! If they don't have your coverage on file, that's their problem, not yours. As long as you have receipts that show you purchased the extra coverage, they should take care of the problem without question. If they say it's going to take 6 mos. to get it straightened out, I'd be taking it to small claims court.
