I am hoping someone can help me - My younger daughter tripped over the ethernet cable of my older daughter's laptop. The cable ripped out of the port and one of the little gold/copper wires from the port broke off - When I plugged the cable back into the laptop there is no connection for the internet. I am wondering if I can replace the port and if so, how difficult of a job is it to do - The model is a L25-S119. Thank you for your time

Most likely it will involve difficult soldering... if you're lucky, the port's on a separate mini-board that you can just replace by itself, but that is a pretty rare case.

I'd suggest one of those pcmcia ethernet cards.

Thank you for your fast response - I will look into the pcmcia card that you speak of!

Yes, the best and cheapest solution is using PCMCIA-LAN.
