so, I have a new Toshiba Satellite A214 or some model number like that. It was very expensive, over $1k. I think my 4 year old son might have dropped it in it's case. Now when you turn it on, the screen is all dark and fuzzy and keeps moving.

Anything I can do? Do you think Toshiba will cover the repair (I might neglect to mention the possible drop)? Dang!

Does the actual screen move within the bezel? Is so, the connection between mobo and screen could be harmed. Not sure on Toshiba warranties, but at most you will have to replace a screen, if that is the only issue, hopefully. Not sure if it could be the GPU loose/damaged, but cross fingers its only a minor, cheaper issue.

no, the actual screen doesn't move. the display is really dark and the display is moving around (fuzzy) and you can't see anything or use the mouse. Is there anything I can do to diagnose the problem (and the price to fix)

Hmm, this does sound fairly critical. Since it was a physical drop, you may be looking at hdd damage, physical mobo damage, connector damage, etc. I would say call Toshiba, say you are having issues and go from there. Your laptop may have some kind of accident protection or such, maybe something you bought at the reseller?. You can also request that your laptop not be repaired until a full and complete quote is given. I do not think I can be of much more help. GL bud
