I am very happy with this laptop, but would like to make it faster. Current CPU is a T2500, with 1 Gig of RAM. I would like to upgrade to a T9400 if the Motherboard can handle it. I will also go up to 4 gigs of RAM, which I'm sure will make a difference. My question about the CPU is this, my current one runs at a 667 FSB, and the T9400 runs at 1066 mhz on the FSB. Will my old motherboard support that? I have upgraded to the latest bios.
Another question, will a SSD HDD work in my laptop?

You cannot use the T9400 in your laptop. I will do some research and see if you can use any of the Core 2 Duos, but if so, you're probably limited to a 667mhz FSB anyway.
An SSD will work in your laptop.
If you want to make it faster, my first upgrade would undoubtedly be the memory. Go to 2GB. -

Best CPU would be the T2700 or the T7600. Search for the Mobile CPU Guide....
User-accessible memory will be around 3GB (max), if the chipset is 945GM/PM.
SATA SSDs will work if the motherboard has a SATA port. Though going for a very fast SSD (>150MB/s) may not be wise, since the port will not be SATA2-compliant. -
Be sure not to dump too much money into upgrades. Often if you're looking to replace all the main components it's often more cost effective to just get a new laptop.

I have the same notebook, and I upgraded it with a T7600 from a T2500 like yours. I think it's the top processor you can use for the chipset PM945.
No problem for the bios to recognize it. Update to the last bios version is better by the way.
Another upgrade can be the memory expansion. Furtherly a 7200 rpm Hard disk. The standard one is 4200 rmp, it's pretty slow and sux!
These upgrades make the notebook enough reactive and fast, but consider we are talking about an hardware that is a bit outdate. So try to evaluate if spend that money really worths.

Thanks for your input. I think I can get the CPU on ebay for about $75, and I already have the 7200rpm hard drive.
