Comments welcome.
I have had the M60 for 2 weeks now, and if you are mainly using it as a desktop replacement, you want the 17'' LCD. Trust me, once you put it on your desk, you will fall in love and wont go back.
However, it is not perfect. Yes, the keyboard like many users have said, the keys are really stiff...but im sure over time it will break in, like all keyboards will. But when i type on my brothers A70, the difference is like night and day. I dont know why the M60 keyboard is made so snappy? Odd, but not a big deal. Definitely need some epsom salt to loosen up the hand muscles, trust me it is like a typewriter, definitely NOT normal for a laptop.
The biggest grip I have with the keyboard is how two of the most commonly used keys - the period and the right shift, are shrunken, and yet the left shift is 4 times the size? That just doesnt make any sense to me. What Toshiba should have done was shrunken the numpad, because though I love mine...how often do you use it really? Not nearly as much as the right shift. Through the 2 weeks, I have yet to get used to this. The period key is fine, but finding the right shift is bit tricky. But then again, I use a standard full size keyboard at work, typing away at it for 8hrs a day anyways.
Surprisingly its made pretty well. Hinge doesnt creak when I open it, the keyboard doesnt really flex, but I think this has a large part to due with the super stiff keys.
Performance wise, its great, gotta love the 5400rpm HDD and the look of its so nice.:centrino:

I'll second that
. I'm in the middle of reviewing my M60 and it's pretty nice I'd have to say. I've had mine since the beginning of November, and I don't have any big concerns. The keyboard is a bit annoying, but is breaking in nicely and starting to type more accurately. The X600SE video card is decent. I've overclocked it to about 450 core and 245 memory with about a 34% improvement on 3dMark05. All in all, it's a nice machine, awesome for watching dvd's on also.

I have a Toshiba M70, and have had in a for a couple months now. I don't have any problems typing on the keys anymore. But, it could be that I have grown accustomed to pushing a little harder, because when I type on a normal computer I have the hardest time 'cause it's too darn easy.
I absolutely love this computer, though. I am a recent college graduate that uses it pretty much for internet related stuff, word processing, and other teacher related stuff. I got the M-70 'cause the screen was so pretty. I think it's fairly light, given the circumstances, and it's definitely an attention getter with its size and its screen.
I also have had great battery life. If I am using it continuously, I get three or more hours out of it while using Toshiba PowerSaver. And, if I just leave it running on battery and use it sporadically, it lasts 8+ hours.
It's a work horse. It's pretty. I give it a 10. -
i also agree with eerything you said, andi like mine too. but my left palmrest is fading quite a bit. it wil be hard for me to go back to a smaller screen.

So do they look something like this after a while?

Actually my M65 does.
There are three areas on the hand rest that show discoloration that I can not remove. I tried several cleaners but nothing works so its got to be the plastic used.
It does not disturb me personally but I can tell that people are looking at it weird when I use the machine to demo my companies software.
Calling Toshiba M60 and M70 owners - how do you like it so far?
