    Can I use the recovery disc on a different HDD?

    Hi, I am planning to switch my 4200rpm HDD with a faster 5400rpm one. However I somehow doubt that I can use the same recovery disc that came with my notebook on a different HDD. :confused: What do you guys think? Thanks.

    I don't see why not?

    But then I have never used a recovery disc!

    I'd call Toshiba 'cause they are the only ones that know what safeguards they place on which disks (historically, that is).

    I'm almost 100% certain it will work. Those discs usually only check (maybe by talking with the BIOS) to make sure it is the right model notebook.
