Why would you not be able to return your laptop to its factory settings?

Are the recovery discs for applications and drivers only, or is it the entire OS, applications, etc.?

If it's the former of those 2 options, I'd say sure, why not! :D

Do you get recovery disks?, Do they work if you wipe the entire drive, but you still have the recovery partition.

I dont know i need answers.

I don't know either; I own a Thinkpad. I had to create my own recovery discs (which I will probably never use anyway).

I just sort of assumed got some sort of disc(s) that allow you to go back to the factory settings.

You could make an image of the HDD, put it on a cd, and call that your "recovery disc."

    :D

My x205 came with a recovery cd/dvd, so it would overwrite any setup I install. I don't know if all current Toshibas come with recovery CD's, but I imagine they probably do.

The A300 has the facility to create recovery disks. Create those, then install x64. If they do tell you to revert to original settings, you'll need the recovery DVDs.
