    Can the AMD E-240 processor be updated in a C655D ?

    I have a customer's C655D and this is not the best chip going.
    Can this be updated to a dual core like some Acers can be ?

    Would not be worth the cost. At the very least, you would probably have to replace the entire main board being the CPU is sodered in. Most likely, only with another like CPU.

    Do yourself a favor and stick with an Intel i3 or higher notebook. Even the newer Quad core AMD laptops are weak against an Intel dual core i5 in performance and battery life. More then ever, the Intel tax is worth the extra bucks.
