Can't access my BIOS with Qosmio X505-Q830?

I got this notebook a couple weeks ago and never tried accessing my BiO's until today.
    I've tried the usual:

Power on the computer then tapping F1
Power on the computer then tapping F2
Power on the computer then tapping Esc then F1
Power on the computer then tapping Esc
Hold down the F2 key and then power-on the computer

The screen flashes then goes blank. After a bit, I will push the power button and it shuts off.
If I hit the power button only, it will turn on normally.

Only things I changed when I got this notebook was installing a new Crucial V4 128GB Solid State Drive & 8GB of memory
    I'm running Win 7 home premium.64 bit.

The notebook is running fine, no issues, all updates installed and no yellow exclamations in Device Manager.

    I'm kinda stumped...

Found on your Toshiba Model Support Page for the Qosmio x505-q830

Hopefully one of the above methods works.
Good luck and keep us posted with any results.

Here is what I'm getting. No go yet.

This bulletin documents the several different methods for gaining access to the BIOS Setup feature of most models of Toshiba computers. These setting are stored in non-volatile CMOS memory, hence the alternative term "CMOS Setup". The settings are managed by a utility program built into the computer's BIOS (Basic Input/Output System).

*_For Toshiba notebook PCs manufactured since the introduction of Windows XP_*

One or more of the following methods will be effective:

    *F2 key method*

Turn the computer on. If you see an invitation to press the F2 key to enter Setup, do so. The Setup screen will appear.
Just a blank screen. Have to push the on/off power button to get out of it.
There is a split second screen flash, then blank. Maybe because of the SSD being so fast to boot?

    *Toshiba Hardware utility method
    *
Run the Toshiba Hardware utility from the Toshiba Console. It may also accessible (as 'HWSetup') from the Windows Control Panel. Changes to some of the settings will require re-starting the computer. This method is the only way to access the BIOS settings on some notebook PCs (Satellite 5000 series, for example). (For these machines, pressing and holding the F12 key immediately after powering-on the notebook will allow you to alter the notebook's boot priority.)
Have that only lets me pick how I want to boot, nothing else in BIOS.

If the Toshiba Hardware utility is not present, try the F2 key method and the Esc key method (see below). The Toshiba Hardware utility may be downloaded from the Toshiba support website at Toshiba Support - Homepage ( Toshiba Support - Homepage)

If the computer is fully off, and/or to avoid having to re-start it (and Windows), use one or the other of the following two methods. The PC will have to be truly off (not suspended, or in standby mode, or in hibernation mode). If an external keyboard is attached to the notebook (either directly or via a docking station or a port-replicator), disconnect it until you have completed this procedure.

    *Esc key method*

Turn the computer on. If you do not see a prompt to press the F2 key, then immediately press and hold the Esc key for three seconds, and then release it. When prompted to, press the F1 key. The Setup screen will appear.
No go here either, just a blank screen.
However, I just noticed that the external keyboard & mouse is hooked up. I'll discontent those and try again.

OK, I finally got into BIOS with F2.

What happened, I had my hdmi into my 32" monitor, external keyboard and mouse hooked up.
When I disconnected those, I could then see F2 and get into BIOS.

I never had that problem with my Samsung R580 notebook.

    Whew!
