I just got the x505 q892 and I love the high frame rates when playing games plugged in, but when I unplug and game on battery the framerate drops to unplayable levels. I had this happen on the x305 q701 but the problem was solved by using different video drivers. I tried to install 260.99 nvidia verde but it won't let me install. I also did try to change the power management to high performance, yet no luck. Anyone know a fix for this? I mean why do this to a gaming laptop? I wanted to be able to game without being stuck to an outlet.

I was going to suggest the "high performance" setting when I read your thread title.

But since you already tried that, it must be some other power management feature that is causing the problem.

Try going to power options again, choose "change advanced power settings"

Scroll down to processor power management, expand it.

Change the min. processor state in the battery section to 100% (mine was at 10%). Make sure the max. setting on battery is 100% as well.

Let us know if that helps.
