I want to replace the harddisk for my Satellite M40 and I want a guide for disassemble, but I can't get in www.irisvista.com.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks

I don't have a guide, but I have the Satellite M45. The Harddisk is located to the right of the touchpad. Remove the AC adapter and battery then turn the notebook upside down. If the battery is closest to you, then the hard drive cover is going to be in the upper right corner. Just remove that panel. The hard dive will pull a little to the right (to disconnect,) and then it will pull out. Simply reverse those instructions for installation. Good Luck.

    Thanks Danny,

I've found the location of the harddisk, but what is the exact procedure of removing the panel?

I've unscrewed a screw but still can't remove the panel since some side of it is fit into the case. How many screws do I need to take out in order to remove the panel?

Mine is held in by two along the edge. Once I remove those, the panel seems to come up rather easy.

    Thank again Danny

I have checked that M40 and M45 are the same.

After I take out the screw, the panel still held by two edge (just the same as you described), then how to take out the panel if it is held by two edge?

What is the meaning of "Once I remove those, the panel seems to come up rather easy", does that mean there are some extra step?

I was meaning that after I removed the two screws, I was able to remove the panel without a problem. Here is a pictures outlining the two screws that I removed (highlighted by the yellow circles):

    O I see...

The other screw is hidden by a sticker with S/N.

I think I should get it done this time.

    Thank you Danny~

That is the weirdest spot to put a sticker  oh well. I am glad you found it. Good luck.
