I have been having problems not being able to watch DVD Movies using programs like Cyberlink PowerDVD or Windows Media Player, when i try to load a DVD disc, the program crashes, i have had troubles with some of my games that previously worked on Vista, that do not work on XP now, but i'm not sure of this really is the problem...I have gotten some DVD's to run, but they sometimes don't have video or sound when being played so its kind of useless trying to watch DVD's on my laptop

here are some of my laptop stats

    Satellite P200
    Downgraded to XP
    intel 2.0 ghz
    7600 geforce go
    1 gb RAM

    Any suggestions would be great

Try downloading "K-lite" its a codec pack.
Then use their "Media Player Classic" or just WMP

I wonder if there are driver problems somewhere. Does Device Manager show any problems.

I would also recommend updating the XP to SP3, if you have not already done so.
