Could someone please tell this dummy how I can change the display on my new Toshiba notebook (L35) from widescreen display to 4:3 display. I look at alot of pictures and in widescreen display they are distorted.

Right-click desktop > Properties > Settings tab. Move the resolution slider > Apply to try out different resolutions until it looks good.

Thanks Malia for your response. I have the resolution set at 800X600 which ordinarily should get me a 4:3 display. However, despite everything I try, the information. is "stretched" to fill the widescreen display. It's almost like I have no control over the aspect ratio. Its got me baffled.

When i put my pictures as my background it stretchs, and when i choose put in center it doesnt go on properly!
    Does that make sense?
