So I just received a Toshiba Satellite M70-SR3 for free (a tiny bit of a step up over my tablet, plus its 15 inches) and 2 gigs of ram from another friend for it.
Now the problem is, she didn't give me her charger since she gave it to her sister in law (whole story was the computer kept giving her blue screen so she spent around $2000 for applecare and all that so she just handed it over to me) and a universal charger goes for around $60+.
So the laptop specifications for a charger is: 19 volts, 3.42 A.
The charger i found is for an old Texas Instruments laptop, but it fits the Toshiba perfectly. The specifications for the TI charger is: 19 volts, 1.9 A, and when I plug it in, the laptop lights turn on, but when I go to turn the computer on it won't turn on.
I took apart the computer to clean it so I'm wondering:
1.) Did I forget to hook something back up and that's why the computers not turning on?
2.) OR is the chargers specs too low.

The Charger is only 1.9 Amps. 1.9x19 = 36.1 Watts
The laptop charger uses 64.98 Watts (1.9x3.42).
So when the computer is not using any energy, There is enough wattage to charge the computer, but when the computer is on, it uses more energy and requires more watts, so thats why it doesn't work.
Charger is too weak.

Toshiba Satellite M70-SR3 ,pull up factory specs for your lappy,you will find even if it fits ,does not mean it will not explode on you.

I'ld unplug it and not use it at all. This last weekend I used a good Toshiba 19v 3.42 charger that was handy for a A215 with a dead battery, that needed a 19v 3.95 charger. After about a half hour I could smell something hot. Then wisps of smoke came up from behind the screen and the laptop switched to "battery" and the charger was too hot to touch and works no more.

Lol never do that with an empty battery, you need all 75w to charge your battery and run your computer, not 65w lol. About 30-40w goes to charging the battery and then depending what you are doing, you need a least 35-40w to run your computers. With exception of the new Intel cpus, all mainstream cpus were rated around 35w tdp, + you got your hdd, screen, and your mobo.
