Thanks for the links! Some good information and photos there.

Dimensions seem very sleek. Wonder how accurate they are. Surprised they can handle the SV sandy bridge chips and incorporate optical drive.

Looks quite good. Very excited since this is most likely going to be my new notebook in a few months.

I hope they release US versions with a 9-cell battery. The existing thread about the R830 had a link to Toshiba's website showing specs and the two models listed both included 9-cell batteries promising up to 12 hours of use.

The reviewer wrote that the 6 cell battery lasted 407 mins with wifi off, brightness at medium setting and dvd video running full screen. The 9 cell can probably hit 9 hrs?

Prices look good, but none of the units offer ssd option.

Hoping the specs on the Toshiba website link above are wrong or for a different model. 1.64Kg vs 1.4Kg and 4.4cm vs 2.56cm at the thickest point! Maybe includes extended battery?

Europe specs listed 9 cell battery while the Taiwan sets have 6 cells :)

looks overpriced at £1300 with only i5, standard hdd and intergarted graphics, on that the other model would be £2k

Yes, given the specs and price, not sure if i should get R830 or the Lenovo X220. I have been using 13.3 inch machines all the way, the X220 screen is just a tad smaller at 12.5.

    Should i go for R830 or X220?
