    Everytime I close my laptop (a110-225) I have to restart him when I re-open it because I lost the internet connection. This is also the case when I put him on Stand-by. I prefer not to restart my laptop everytime it went in stand-by!! When I re-open my laptop it always says that I do have a lan-connection, but still I can't open any websites until I restart..
    I know it is possible to make sure that it doesn't go in stand-by when you close the laptop, but this seems stupid to me because you keep on using a lot of power!
    Can I change some of the settings in order to be able to close my laptop again without having to restart him afterwards??

    Thanks for answering!

    ps: I don't use wireless connection!

    Hey Lisa,
    Im not sure if this is of any help but just in case i thought i would post.I had the same exact issue with my Laptop (Toshiba Qosmio) and at first i could not figure out the issue either.Stupid of me to then realise the issue was caused because i had both Zone Alarm Firewall and Avast Antivirus installed and the truevector service from zone alarm and a similar service from avast were causing the issue.Disabling one or the other solved it and havent had the issue since.

    I only use MacAffee Virusscan. I tried to disable it, but I still had to restart in order to be able to have internet connection. The strange thing is that he always indicates that there is a LAN-connection, but I can't open webpages...
    Please help!

    I think I found it!
    1. Start -> Control Panel -> System
    2. On system properties dialog box select Hardware tab -> click Device manager
    3. On Device manager dialog box select Networking adapters -> I have three things there: 1394 networkcard,
    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 ABG Network connection,
    Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC.
    Apparently, in the last one the option "the computer can disable this divice to save energy" was enabled!
    I think this is what happened everytime I closed my laptop or put him in standby.

    Does anyone know whether disabling this function has any bad consequences???
