Hey guys how are you enjoying these laptops, any horrific problems?
Is the screen decent/nice/excellent? Are they glossy or matte is my main question I really can't find this anwer.
Ive been debating on one of these or a sager np5792, I would probably upgrade the processor in the toshiba. Ive read the reviews and the toshibas sound system is nice compared to sagers average speakers (also compared to almost every other laptop). The price compared to a decent/good np5792 is near the price of a x205-sli1 but the np5792 has one 8700 and the sli has dual 8600 same dedicated vram.
EDIT:
A couple more questions...
How is battery life?
How much does it wiegh? they say 9.43lb but i heard its marketinign gimmick, its wieghed b4 hard drives etc are added?
What version would you suggest, the new x205-9800 is out but it seems gimped in the processor area but thats it? (missing hd drive also) looking to spend just about $2 grand.

I owned an X205-9359 previously, and I really liked it for the most part. The screen is glossy and good for the most part. I never had any real issue with the X205-9359 except for the fact the gaming performance was nowhere near what was advertised and implied.
I ultimately sold my X205 and went for an m9750. I'd say the X205 is a great multimedia laptop hands down, but if you're looking for a good gaming laptop, there are better. That's not to say it can't play games, but you need to keep in mind they're mid-range units all around.
Also, the speakers are probably the best laptop speakers you can get. Hands down. I've never heard better. -
Well Im assumnig it was on vista( a horrible gaming platform) because the parts are the same on each laptop except the mobo a t7500 is an intel t7500 wether it be from dell or toshiba.
I dont plan to max crysis (thats what my desktop is for with my e6650 @3.7ghz, 8800's) But it is going to be used for games.
Thanks for the answer glad to hear the screen is glossy and nice!
edit: puke on Alienware ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww -
Personally I am very happy with my X205-SLi1. The screen is really nice, I have both of the 8600GT's overclocked and running in SLi mode. It works just fine for games, I mean it can't max out games like Crysis but it can still run really good with all the settings on medium. I already upgraded the RAM and the hard drives the only other thing I am looking to throw in here is the Penryn T9300 once it comes out and if Toshiba makes a BIOS update so that we can run them. I think they will since I saw that there is a new Toshiba laptop coming out with that excact processor but who knows.

I have both the X205-sli1 and 9349 that my son uses every day and we are both very happy with both laptops I have not had any problems running any games yet I have been playing Crysis and Gears of War on my sli1 with no problems to speak of after little over 3 months of constant use.

I got the X205 S9349 but few days ago Gateway came out with a new Gaming Laptop. At Best Buy you can get it for $1349 it has the new Nvidia 8800GTS which gets around 7000 point in 3DMark06 with a low end CPU T5xxx but you were planning to Upgrade that anyway, but if you go to Gateway website they have other 3 choices with better CPU including the new Penryn.
Gateway Model: P-6831FX NVIDIA, GeForce Go 8800 GTS -
I love my machine with XP, it was horribly slow with Vista while gaming. Other than not being able to get the HD-DVD to work (format war is over anyway), it's been a nice "upgrade"

If u prefer more like an entertainment/casual (graphically demanding) games laptop ... x205 is perfect for u ..and the sound and the screen are amazing. But if frames/second is what it counts more for u, then go with Sager...u'll be a happy gamer
Couple questions to x205 owners
