Just today I noticed that the touchpad on my Toshiba may be detiriorating. I decided to try out Toshiba's Touch and Launch Program after not having used it for a while and it just won't work at all. I went into the program also and tried to adjust the touchpad sensing area but it just wouldn't pick up anything at all. I can still move the mouse around but the Touch and Launch program won't work and I've also noticed that now when I apply a little bit of pressure on the touchpad with a finger, there's a slight creaking sound and it pushes a little bit in, thats not good. :(

Have you done a complete reinstall since you got your notebook? A lot of Toshiba crudware can screw up your notebook.

Reguarding your touchpad: It sounds like software, but it could be hardware. My touchpad on my old Satellite creaked a lot and finally blew up (literally) at the end of its life.

Okay, strange, my media and quick launch buttons have just suddenly decided to work again but I'm still very worried about the touchpad. My Touch and Launch program just won't work at all, but otherwise, the touchpad is alright but I am worried that when I put a bit of pressure on it, some creaking noises were made and I swore that that never happened before. :( :(

    Hmm...

You've just noticed the creaking in the last couple of days? Check underneath the mouse pad and see what's there (like HD, RAM, Battery, etc.). Do you press hard or light when using the touchpad? Pressing hard might make the touchpad do something like this, but not this early in a notebook's life.
