    Custom built Toshiba Laptop. What was your build time?

    Yesterday afternoon I made the plunge and ordered my first laptop! 17 years working on and with computers and I've never owned a laptop. I'm very excited to get it. Here is my order:

    Satellite A130-ST1312
    Core™2 Duo Processor T7200
    Genuine Windows Vista™ Ultimate
    512MB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz SDRAM (512MBx1) (don't freak out!)
    15.4" Diagonal Widescreen XGA TruBrite
    nVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 with 256MB
    80GB HDD
    DVD SuperMulti
    Harmon/Kardon® speakers

    I've got 2 GB of RAM from Newegg on order, saved myself about $80 over ordering the 2GB straight from Toshiba.


    Anyway, my questions is.... How long did Toshiba take to custom build your laptop?

    They say 8 to 10 business days but does it take that long usually?

    I ordered mine on 3/12 and got it on 3/24.
    The big surprise was that a130 does not have internal mic!!!

    And that internal mic comes on the A135, doesn't it? It is disappointing that we get dinged just because we don't want to buy one of their pre-built systems.

    But it's not a big issues for me, when I'm using a mic it's on a headset.

    I know this forum has more than one person who bought a custom built laptop! Help an obsessive brutha out and let me know how long I can expect to see "Order Being Processed" on the Toshiba site.

    Well, Toshiba just updated my laptop's status. At this point it says the estimated ship date is 4/10/07. That would be exactly the 8th business day since I placed my order. So, while I was hoping it might ship quicker, I guess it still has a chance, it looks like they will be hitting their shipping goal exactly as promised. Can't complain about that.
