as u all know, u can customize M30 series as u wish.

buh then M35 series is called "special edition"

so.. if i customize M30 exactly same as M35-S456,

Does it mean i'll receive exactly same notebook as M35-S456?

or still a lil bit different M30?

it's also a lil bit cheaper if i customize M30 just like M35's spec. i have no idea WHY -_-

So far, all i know is that M35 series has High-Quality Video Engine(HVE) chipset.

    i dunno about customized M30...

so basically, what i'd like to know is that

if i customize M30 just like M35-S456's spec, am i gonna get a same notebook as M35-S456?

i saw dat i can get 10% discount on the customized M30.. so i just wanna know about it.

plz reply if u hv ne idea about this

    thx. ^^

I see that you're located in Toronto. You can't get Toshiba's or any brand name notebook for that matter, configured in Canada. It's mainly limited to the US and possibly Europe. If I'm wrong, where do they offer this in Canada/Toronto?

The 2 systems you listed, if configured exactly the same, will generally be the same unit. I believe the only difference between the SE model & the regular, is the TruBrite LCD. If configured in the US (Toshiba.com), you can add the TruBrite screen to the config.

I'm note sure what this HVE chipset is. I did a search in Google and found "High Quality Video", but it was for the NVidia video card that has a dedicated video processing engine (VPE). Otherwise, I don't think there's anything special about the chipset.

I just checked the Toshiba.ca site and found one thing that may be different, other than the screen. The SE model has an Audio/Video INPUT option. Here's the quote from Toshiba Canada's website:

"The Satellite M30 Special Edition is the deluxe widescreen entertainment version of the Satellite M30. Featuring Toshiba TruBrite™ screen technology which doubles the brightness of the LCD, this unit has a Video/Audio input option to connect to an Xbox, cable or digital satellite or to connect to a larger TV monitor to display games or movies on – making this an ultimate entertainment system."
