Having ON-again OFF-again Problem with DVD Drive, the drive is totally missing after startup. First time it happened I called support and they said it was because of windows updates I loaded from normal MS updates, and to use system restore, which did work(What am I to never update Windows?). But since then its happened twice more 2nd time i spent 2 hrs messing around and a windows drive update message pops up out of nowhere and loads the drivers. 3rd time I just rebooted and they reappeared, so it sounds like some startup problem. When this happens the drive does not show at all in device manager or My computer. Any one else having the same problem?

Happened to me once... try this MS KB link at the bottom. Need to modify a registry entry...

I did this, and never had a problem again..

I had it happen once while I was running Vista on my sli1, but since I am running XP on it right now I have not seen it happen so it must be another Vista bug.
