I noticed that when the recovery disks are used two options are available. Either:

1-Restore to factory settings (out of box), or

    2-Wipe hard drive.

My question is what is meant by wipe hard drive option? I've used the disks to restore to factory settings. This removes everything that had been added to the hard drive. Everything that was on the lappy when it was taken out of the box is restored plus the bloatware. My understanding of wiping the hard drive is that everything is removed-OS, drivers and bloatware. You would then have to have to reinstall the OS, and all the drivers, and the bloatware would be gone. Can the recovery disks do this? Would picking the wipe hard drive option mean there would be a clean install of the OS and drivers without the Toshiba bloatware?

    Anyone ideas?

    Thanks

NO your recovery disk has all the bloatware installed. Only way to get rid of the bloatware besides removing it after recovery is complete is to use a new disk to install your os.
