I have a satallite A100 with a Cd burner DVD Rom.
Wondering if anyone has ever changed out the drive to a DVD Burner.
I know there now cheap as chips, the A200 with DVD burner, duel core etc is now about $800 but I'm pretty happy with my laptop and it would be better with a DVD burner.

It should be swappable - almost all optical drives are standard sizes with notebook-specific fixing brackets and fascias (which you can swap).

There are some useful tips about changing optical drives in this thread.
