This is a very odd problem. I own a Toshiba Satellite m300 PSMD0C, I've installed WinXp on it (originally came with Vista)
Everytime I try to record a DVD or CD, even if I specify on my recording software to work at, say, 4X, it won't and only owrks at 1X. I mean, it starts working, but then all the speed it can reach is 1X.
Nero InfoTool says that DMA is off, I've tried to turn it on (it is ON on every IDE drive), but to no use. I've even unistalled/installed the drive, but no solution.
Here is the log from Nero Info Tool
Description : Primary IDE Channel
Driver
Description : system32\DRIVERS\atapi.sys
Company : Microsoft Corporation
Version : 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108)

Type : CD-Rom Drive
DMA : Off
Autorun : On
Drive : TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632H

Any ideas/suggestions?
Thank you!
