I noticed in the specs of some models of the laptops (satelite/Qosmio) that the RJ-45 LAN port is the only one listed while the specs of other models has both the RJ-45 LAN and RJ-11 modem port listed.

Even tho the RJ-11 modem port is not listed, do they all still come with it?

Most do, but they might not. . now with everyone switching to wireless broadband. it might say Modem or something else indicating it is there.
Don't take it for granted if you need one, ask the seller/shop before purchasing it, that way you can always return it if they lie to you :)

Thank you as I do need the RJ-11 as I would be on dial up for home use.

Download the User Manual for the notebook you are interested in. There's usually illustrations showing each port. Or check the reviews on this site. They usually contain photos of each side of the notebook.

If the notebook you want doesn't have an RJ-11 port then one work-around is a USB modem.

Gosh, THANKS for the info. That would be terrific if it works OK.

I have been using the Toshiba Support model selector site to look at and compare the specs of each that I am interested in. Is that where you get the manual?
The one's I am interested in now are the QosmioG55-Q802 and the Qosmio F55-Q503.
Possibly the X305-Q701 if I think it is as good as?

    User guides are here.

To be honest, I'm reaching the stage where, although I like to have a modem port, I accept that another USB port may be a better use of space.
