    Hi everyone,

a friend of mine's notebook display broke a few weeks ago. We send it back to where she bought it but these ... want more for repairing the display than my friend actually paid for it!
Well, she is quite upset about the whole thing. I searched through ebay for a while and found some displays for about EUR 90 (~US$ 120). As the topic says she has got a Toshiba Satellite L300-12P.
Now I have got three questions:
    1) The product description says this:
Do I need a new backlight inverter or any additional stuff such as brackets?
Are 262k colors standard? It sounds so unfamiliar to me... I only know 32bit...

    2) Has anyone done such an "operation" on a Satellite L300-12P? I am no total fool, for example I already changed a mobile phone display. Does this really need special tools or can it be done by a normal guy like me?

    3) Is this a normal price or can I get the display cheaper? Or is it maybe suspiciously low?

Thanks a lot for any information regarding my topic!
    Best regards!

no, you only need to replace LCD panel, and connect CCFL to backlight connector.

you don't need special tool for this, just use screwdriver and (maybe) small knive (blunt knives) ... then, use your inspiration, all be done :)

i think $120 is normal prices for 14,1" LCD panel ... range is $80 - $120 for LCD panel based CCFL Backlight, and $100-$150 for LCD panel based LED backlight.
imho ... LG Philips, or AU Optronics is a good choice
