Does Toshiba A200-ST2041 (customized option) have dual harddrive ability like A205-S4638 1.73ghz one? 533fsb abilities?

I liked going with the customized option that toshibadirect has for this new satellite, because i could pick a higher powered CPU and FSB (667)...

It appears only the preconfigured unit lists dual harddrives.. has anyone bought the customized one and been able to do two internal drives?

I will be doing video editing and capture (probably the capture via usb or express card svideo)..

Is the 533mhz 1.7ghz unit going to be good enough for this (and last several years).. they all have 128mb go 7300 cards too.. I'm assuming this would be bare minimal and maybe desire 7200rpm drives (the ones it comes with are only 5400).

The resolution on the screen only maxes out at 1280x800, this would barely be 720p HD resolution, compared to other laptops like the e1505 which go up to 1680 x 1050 on the Dell.

The dell has attractive resolutions but lacks the dual harddrive ability...

    Cheers

Just wanted to say that unless that model ships with a 2nd drive in place, it wont have the connector for the other drive. See my latest review on it.

Are you sure about that for the custom one? I know that the custom A130 did come with that connector, whereas the pre-built systems that did not have a second hard drive did not have the connector...

That was my curiousity as well.. I saw that it didnt have the connector on the review.. made me wonder if one could buy this connector somewhere.

As far as the custom one again, I did call Toshiba, naturally they said it isnt possible to add a second HDD to their custom one.. but I would like to hear it from someone who actually bought the custom one.

I like the specs on the cpu/motherboard better with the custom one, you pay alot more for less specs when you buy the one with the dual drives already in it.
