I went on their website today and only the Tecra and Portege laptops are available (and only a few non-customizable models). Have they killed their consumer-laptop business? Can't seem to find any definitive info on this.

Yes, they make mostly business offerings now.

You're right - only the Tecra and Portege models are available on Toshiba Direct. There are still a bunch of Satellites in stock at Best Buy and other places online, though.

Best Buy has a whole slew of them. Toshiba has completely changed their design standard in the past 2 years and they're about to outpace the amount of HPs and Dells Best Buy sells. Unlike Dell and Lenovo and even some of the HP ultrabooks, most Toshiba's still have a swappable HDD. I've seen some that have a slot from M.2 or NVME but shipped with a 500GB mechanical HDD.

I just noticed that today when I was looking for drivers for my notebook pc and I saw that no Satellite anymore so I looked up at google.com and found that Toshiba will no longer make consumer notebooks anymore and just business ones. Also Toshiba said they were losing money so they were about to combine Toshiba with Sony and Fujitsu but maybe they won't now since they quit making consumer line. But what's interesting is that why Toshiba was losing money. Since they made soo many great affordable machines that are good for kids and also people who don't use there notebook pc for advance stuff which most people are like that so I thought they were making huge money but apparently not. I came to this forums to see if anyone knew about this and looks like someone noticed it before me.

Kinda sucks since I really was a huge Toshiba fan since they were cheap and lightweight and fast for the price. Like my $220 one is great that I got at Office Depot 2 years ago and now I guess that will be the last of it. I have to Toshiba Satellite C55-B5299. I' am actually shocked that Toshiba quit making Satellites anymore.

They likely did due to the fact that they made little profit, and the sales of those machines were lower.

Luckily they still offer warranty and tech support to current and yet unsold Satellite models. I personally won't regret much for them, but as a poster above remarked, Qosmio was indeed a quality gaming experience back in times.
