I want to dual boot with Windows 7 and Vista, but I don't particularly want to void my warranty in the process. Does anyone here know if it will void the warranty if I install Windows 7 on my second hard drive?

    Are you angry or something?

I didn't know, I just assumed it would.

    Thankyou anyway.

I wouldn't think so - it would seem pretty silly if it did since that will be Microsoft's flagship operating system going forward. In any case, I suppose if you had to take it in for warranty work you could simply remove the 2nd drive.

Wait a minute. If I install it on my second hard drive, with Vista on my first, will it dual boot properly?

Hmm...that's a good question. I would think that it should as long as the BIOS settings tell it where to look for a boot drive. I have dual boot on a single drive but as far as I know, the OS thinks of the second partition as if it is a separate physical drive. Not to mention, the OS typically looks to boot first from an optical drive then from the HD.

Perhaps someone else who has done it w/ 2 drives will respond.

His warranty will be void if he take out the second drive... But installation of SeveN will not.

His warranty would not be void unless that second drive is buried deep within the system with no easy slide out tray. If the hard drive comes out in a tray or has an access panel to it, you will not void the warranty taking it out.

Toshiba is pretty good when it comes to people cracking the case open, just not internal modifications. :)
