well the cpu fan is spinning all the time, quiet though, but the gpu fan kicks in sometimes and that bothers me because the temperature of the gpu is at 48°C and doesnt need to be cooled so often.

i put the new 1.50 bios on my notebook. could that be the cause ofmy fans playing crazy?

It could be. I'm still using the default bios that comes with the notebook. My X205's GPU idles at 48c,53c while surfing, typing.....61-63c gaming, maxed at 69c no matter what. My GPU fan runs very quiet and never gets loud.

All Toshiba's do this and there's nothing you can do as far as I know. The CPU fan kicks in every while or so. This is the burst your speaking of right? The GPU fan stays on constantly.

After updating to the new bios in windows, and hearing the fans kick to 100%, now that was loud. Although that stopped after I rebooted. Perhaps something got stuck?

I used to have a utility that would control the fans on my Dell Inspiron 9100, but it was Dell specific. NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) doesn't seem to have any control over anything (yet). Looks like we are bios bound atm. :(
