I know the previous model had in reviews of a mushy keyboard. The Best Buy by my home has the R700 on display and in stock. I want to purchase the new R835 but I am concerned of the keyboard feel. If the R700 has the same keyboard of the R835, then I'll go to my Best Buy to test out the R700 keyboard to see if it really bothers me.

I also wondered about that, but from what I've read and seen (high-res pictures) it really looks identical. So for me, that's a no go (ordered the Sony Vaio SB instead).

The ODD issue doesn't matter to me, compared to glossy plastic consumer laptops, the Vaio SB is built way better. You won't notice a thing unless you would look at its back all the time. I agree with this post.

The fingerprint reader might've been build in better yea, but that also differs per model I think, on some pictures it looks better than on others. The keyboard is, for me, one of the most important parts of a laptop, and should therefore not be rubbish.

And this all doesn't mean the build quality in terms of solidness is worse, it's just not perfect and indeed some things doesn't look that nice if you look at it too closely.
