    Hello,

Has anyone ever had that error message come up?

    "Drive D\: Inaccessible Incorrect Function"

All my CD's and DVD's work on my drive, except for those that I burned myself with Nero on a previous computer. These CD's give the above message when I try to read them.

But I know that those CD's work because I can access them fine on all my other computers. Only my Toshiba laptop can't access them. I think it is a software issue as well because I can access all other CD's and DVD's on that laptop.

    Any ideas?

My laptop is the Satellite A100 : http://tinyurl.com/nw2kn

It may also be a cd specific problem. Are all of the CD's that you burned and can't read the same kind (manufacturer wise)? If it is then that is your problem, which sounds like it could be. For some reason, Toshibas cd and dvd burners are touchy like that for some reason.

that could be the problem. those that i tried for now are fujifilm and memorex, maybe toshiba does not support them.

they were also burned directly as data from nero express.

i think it may be a conflict between windvd creator, sonic record now and nero. maybe i will reinstall the system and delete those software and see what happens.

but if anyone has an idea, please let me know. when (if) i find a solution, i will post it here.

    thanks

I can't vouch for fujifilm, but memorex work on my M60, although I have a dvd super-multi drive. It could also be the programs that you are talking about. If you find out what's wrong I'm sure lots of people would like to know also. ;)

ok, it seems that the problem is with the cd's themselves. the cd drive just cannot read them. it may be because they were created with an old cd-rw drive...

if i burn a new cd with my laptop, it works. i can burn the cd and then read it with no problems.

i think that there is no other solution than to recreate the cd's

sorry that i don't have a better solution.
