    Driver Issues

    I have an Toshiba Sattelite P305D S8895E. Yesterday I decided to downgrade to XP from Vista. Since then I have been unable to get any of my sound drivers working again. I have been to the toshiba site and many other places looking for the drivers. I have even downloaded driver . And cannot get my sound working.
    In my device manger under other devices I am missing these drivers...
    SM Bus Controller
    Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
    And when I go into the control panel I find that there is no audio device installed.
    If anyone can help me find the drivers and the audio device to be installed it would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome :)
    First; does your laptop support downgrading to XP? And do you have the right drivers made for it?
    And, like you maybe know; Vista SP2 is RTM is out, I can recommend you to try it out. The overall performance is better. Also search for some tweaks to clean all that features you don't need.

    I have downgraded to xp before and it worked but someone did this for me. I did not know about the other vista being out I will try it on one of my other computers. I am not sure I have the correct drivers. I have been trying to find the drivers but am having no luck finding them and getting them installed. I am not the best with computers but knew i liked xp better than vista.

    It keeps tellin me the file is to big nomatter how i break it down and zip it so go to the P300/P305 thread and look on page 3 or 4 to get the link for the drivers okay!

    I am still in need of the drivers I still have no sound or mic and I really do need it I have tried everything and downloaded and installed so many drivers if someone can send me the correct drivers and maybe help me through remote acess it would be great. thanks. lorie

    i got the email download all the drivers and installed them all caz i didnt know which was my sound and i still have no sound or mic, all i know is its an real tec sound card and harma/kardon d audio speakers and hd audio mic

    It's not real tech in mine its Conexant try drivers for that !

    I have done a litte bit search and found out that, you use the same sound card as me. I have also searched for driver, but I was only able to find Vista 32/64 Bit...

    Your speakers and mic use the Conexant HD Audio driver its on the link i sent you the other day.

    im still trying cant get its kinda get irritatin as i was on vista when i bought this went to xp it worked before the sound driver but someone else did it for me then i went back to vista diff version vista still didnt like vista went to xp on my own now cant get my sound or mic to work
