I went to Toshiba's site but the drivers are not all right, for example, they have both a WLAN Intel Driver and Atheros Intel Driver, but my Notebook only has the Atheros chipset.

So if I specified my rightm odel and submodel, why am I getting these incompatible drivers of other notebooks?

Futhermore, when I installed the Toshiba Value Added Package from Toshiba's website, my function keys stopped working I cant turn up the brightness up or down or any other function

Please help me get the right drivers for my notebook.

On a side note, did anyone notice that before installing the nVIDIA Driver the screen was brighter?

Even at full brightness now it looks pretty dull to me I could've sworn it was brighter before I install the nVIDIA Driver

I isntalled the latest nVIDIA Driver v301.42

    Please help

    Thanks

Did you do a clean install of your OS? Just trying to figure out why your installing the drivers....

Also, make sure your downloading from the UK site and not the US site: Laptop Driver Downloads:

For the screen brightness problem, make sure your power profiles are set appropriately [not on eco mode]; check under battery/power settings.

Good luck and keep us posted with any updates

    Thanks for the quick response.

Yes I did a clean install as I wanted to install Windows on my Kingston KC100 SATAIII SSD to along side with the Momentus XT to store data

I dont even have the Eco utility installed yet

I'm surprised noone made a clean instal guide as it is the case here usually :(

Would you recommend I download the latest Intel drivers like Chipset and IRST or is it better to stick to the official ones from Toshiba?

    Thanks

I would stick with Toshiba drivers, as they were specifically bundled to work with your hardware. As for the wireless, when I checked the UK Wireless Lan Driver, it only has 1 driver listed.

For the brightness, try installing the Toshiba version of the nvidia driver first, then installing the driver directly from nvidia afterwards [maybe the Toshiba drivers has some extra tweeks].

Strange, I installed Value Added Package v1.5.15

The moment I uninstalled it the buttons work again

They used to work as soon as I formatted my system anyway

weird, I thought it should've been the opposite that they wont work unless the value added package was installed.

I did ensure not to install it through Windows Updates as well

BTW, do you bother installing these:

    Toshiba Hardware Setup

    Network Registration ID Tool

    HDD-SSD Alert Utility

This link explains all the Toshiba software. I personally have all Toshiba software installed on my laptop, so I am unsure which ones can be skipped:
    Content Details

Be aware this link is from the US site, some software functions may vary from the European models.
