I was dissassmebling my X205 to dust it out, i reassembled everything without problem. Then when i put the keyboard on, one of the screws that attaches the keyboard to the laptop fell into a tiny hole, usually covered by the keyboard bezel, that leads inside the laptop. I have tried many things to get it out but to no avail. Is it okay to use a magnettized screwdriver to fish it out? Or does that risk messing up sensitive parts. Thanks.

No I would not do that. It goes with out saying that you need to get the screw out before you even put the battery or plug the power in...

magnets wont hurt a notebook (unless they are really strong).

A lot of new notebooks have magnets that hold the screen shut (like my notebook).

But I would aslo suggest taking it apart to get the screw out.

You sure it is a magnet that holds the screen shut? Because it could possibly be a mechanism where there are circular pieces of metal in the hinge, with a side of the circular piece being slightly flat so it stays shut...

Magnets can only affect the hard drive, and nothing else I'm pretty sure. Just take out the hard drive just in case, and good luck fishing with a magnet :)

    I'm sure.

Ask any 1651 owner. Those magnets slam the screen down hard, I have cracks to prove it.

Also when you bring metal close to the palm rest of the notebook, you will feel the pull of the magnet.
