hi everyone, this is my first post and im computer stupid so please be gental :)
my name is wayne and im a builder from the UK, although i have many skills in the building trade, computers baffle me.
i have spent hours doing google searches on my problem but to no avail.
i will be honest... ive joined your forum in the hope some of you can advise me on a problem i have.
here goes... i bought an Equium (A200 series i believe,im away from home
celeron 1.46x2, 2mb, 120 mb hard drive) recently and ive damaged the hard drive due to a shock/force to the right of the touch pad.
i have purchased a new 160 mb sata drive which should arrive tomorrow
but there are a couple of points id like some advice on please.

i am using norton and there was a back up facility but im not sure if i backed everything up before i dissabled this facility.
how would i find out ? should i install the new hard drive , then insert the norton disc and go to my account to check?
should i insert the norton disc with no hard drive ?
or is there some way i can install my new drive and go to a "restore" setting ?

please excuse my long first post.
    regards

    wayne
