I purchased the A105-S1013 from OD a few days back. I registered it around end of February. At that time, I had a choice of a free mini-mouse or a 15% off coupon. I opted for the coupon thinking I will go for an extra battery. It seems an extra battery for my model is $160 on sale for $144. :(

So, the questions are can I get the other offer by calling Toshiba Direct?
Is is wise to go for the longer battery costing over $100?

I plan on using the laptop mostly around the house but I might want to use it to keep the kids quiet on the longer trips and the current measly 4 cell one won't even last through one full movie.

    Please help me decide.

By trips, do you mean car trips? Why not just get a car adaptor then?

Yes. I meant long car trips. I did not know that I could buy a car adaptor. So which one is a good car adaptor that I can buy?

    Thanks

Sorry, I have no clue on this. I'm planning on getting one myself soon as my family will be going on a very long car trip.

Targus makes some nice car adapters, as well as CyberPower.

All you have to do is buy a power inverter, I think I have a 400 watt peak one or 350, but it's plenty big, think it was on sale at Farm and Fleet for $20. That way you can plug in anything that you can into an outlet at home (provided it's not over the watt capacity. Just plug the power inverter into the car plug and then use your ac adapter that you use at home.

Power Inverter huh? Well, thanks for the replies. So, I have two more choices in addition to purchasing a battery. I think I will go with the inverter idea as the power brick that came with the laptop should be fine to power the beast once I have an inverter.

    Thank You
