I was drooling over the X305-Q705 in BB the other day. The sound is incredible! Toshiba, for some reason, doesn't sell that one directly. I only see it at BB. TOshiba also doesn't sell the F55 series at all. Hmmm...I saw the F55-Q504 at NewEgg. Does anyone know if the sound on the F55's are just as good as the X305? I like the black look much better on the F55, but I see it only has 2 speakers, as opposed to 4 on the other.
For the price difference, which one would be a better deal? THe X305 is going for $1549 at BB (although I would prefer the 706, but it's $1999 at Toshiba direct). THe F55-Q504 is $1349 at NewEgg.
I wonder why nobody sells Qosmio's?? Not even Toshiba...they're really hard to find.

I called them about that once and was told they generally make them in limited quantities, maybe that's true for the ones they sell direct only, since in the 3 Best Buy's near me, they always have at least 3 of each of the Qosmio models they stock.
I have noticed at other stores, like J&R in NYC, They had the Qosmio G50 in stock for about a week, they never got any more once they sold out.
Personally, I too like the black finish better but the worst part of the color scheme on the X305 is the lid, which if you're using it, you won't be looking at it anyway.
The extra $200 nets you a larger screen, higher resolution, slightly faster memory (DDR3), faster hard drive (7200rpm instead of the 5400rpm), and my favorite part of the X305.. SOUND! The sound is incredible. I assume that the sound on the F50 would be comparable to the sound on my old Qosmio, it had the same 2 Harmon Kardon speakers, but the clarity in this is incredible.
Hope this helps, if you have any questions about the Qosmio's, feel free ask!

Thanks so much! I know, the sound blew me away! You're right, the red flames wouldn't bother me so much, not looking at them, and besides, I don't usually go to cafes and things to use a computer....it would mostly be a home used computer...or hotel room.
