I put XP Pro SP2 on my Toshiba A215-S5837 and have found most drivers, but I can't get the FN key to work. Therefore I can not adjust screen brightness, and probably other things I haven't tried yet. I have everything else working, as far as I know. Any ideas where to get fn esse, or whatever I need to make this work? Any other suggestions about drivers I may have missed - device manager is clean of unknowns (yellow colors).

    Thanks

Look in my sig for the official toshiba drivers page, choose XP under OS.

Thanks Tony. I downloaded the Hot Keys for XP, but it says it can not be installed. I searched using "fn" and Hot Keys was the only thing that came up. I will keep searching for some way to change screen brightness.

    Thanks.

You can change the brightness via the Toshiba Power Saver if you have installed it.

I would have installed it, but I keep getting fatal errors. So far I have no way to install power saver. I would love to get the function keys back, so I can control all of the other things. I hate the thought of going back to vista just to get the function keys back. Any other ideas?

Look for the Sat Pro drivers under
    support.toshiba.com (US)
Browse to Sat Pro and pick the A210-EZ2202X

It took me several months to find a solution to this problem with the function keys on my TOSHIBA Satellite Pro A200 PSAE1E-00N002EN. I expect the solution is the same for all Toshiba notebooks. A BIOS UPDATE is required.

You have to update the BIOS to a version optimised for XP. As supplied, the BIOS is a version optimised for VISTA which is why function keys do not work perfectly (and I also had intermittent problems with the microphone being recognised).
