Yeah, I know this is a stupid, silly question but I was wondering for those who've owned their Toshibas for a while and still have the factory stickers on them, have they started to wear off yet or not? I know this is not a big deal at all, just bothers a perfectionist like me, sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

Not quite sure what you mean, but the Centrino sticker on my dad's Qosmio is still in perfect condition (probably due to the fact that it's made of metal - I'm not too sure how the paper Core Duo stickers will do). The registry numbers and all that good stuff on the bottom are still fine, and even looking at my 4 year old (blown) Satellite, the registry stickers are all in good condition.

Oh, well the stickers I'm talking about are the ones on the palmrest like the Centrino and Windows stickers of course and two Toshiba stickers where one lists the specs of the machine and the other lists optional accessories that can be bought. Both of them seem to already be showing wear, with small white spots on them, where my palm I suppose is rubbing the paint away.
I know many people just take off these "annoying" stickers but I like them and it mildly irritates me to already see them get worn, even thought its a very minor, cosmetic issue. Man, I just love my notebooks SO much, even a tiny scuff somewhere will irritate me for a while. Maybe I have notebook compulsive disorder or something. -
7 months of heavy use on my m60...my palm actually rests on top of the following sitckers and they look like the first day i bought the laptop, that is all

BTW, was it you AMD, or USAF that could make custom signature pictures?? i would like to get one if its posible

Well, you're Windows and Centrino stickers look new, but what about your Toshiba stickers which state the specs of the machine and whatnot? Those are the stickers my palms rest on, not the Centrino or Windows one.

On my old 5205, only the Designed for Windows sticker is still holding up. The Nvidia sticker lost its outer plastic coating entirely half a year ago, and was really sticky and nasty for about a month. The Pentium 4-M sticker is also getting kind of chowed.
I get the feeling that the machine-spec stickers weren't designed to stay on in the long term.
Either way, this time I'm glad my new machine has only a Centrino sticker and a newer (hopefully more durable) Nvidia sticker. It doesn't even have a Designed For Windows sticker. -
How did your machine spec stickers do on your old Toshiba?
I think you're right in that they are less durable than the smaller Windows/AMD/Intel/Nvidia/Ati, etc stickers as like I said the two Toshiba machine spec stickers are already showing white spots where the paint has come off and the similar stickers on my last HP notebook started peeling off by themselves two weeks after I got the notebook. -
It's a pity I don't still have them; otherwise you could dress up your Toshiba like it was one of the relatively rare 5205-s705s made... -
mine didnt come with any of those stickers you are referring to rahul, that is all
